Backlash may move 9/11 terror trial from Manhattan (AP) Posted: 29 Jan 2010 06:32 PM PST AP - Pressured by a growing clamor from New York, the Obama administration appears likely to move the trial of Sept. 11 terror suspects away from Manhattan, where it had been scheduled to take place just blocks from the site of the twin towers attack. The city's top police official says he thinks the trial won't take place anywhere in the city. |
Plane diverted to Fla. in terror scare (AP) Posted: 29 Jan 2010 04:48 PM PST AP - A Continental Airlines jet flying from Newark, N.J., to Bogota was diverted to Jacksonville, Fla., on Friday over concerns a passenger was on the government's watch list of suspected terrorists banned from commercial flights. It turned out to be a case of mistaken identity. |

38% Say U.S. and Allies Winning War on Terror (Rasmussen Reports) Posted: 29 Jan 2010 07:44 AM PST Rasmussen Reports - Thirty-eight percent (38%) of voters say the United States and its allies are winning the war on terror. That's the third time in four Rasmussen Reports tracking surveys that confidence has been below 40%. Numbers that bleak haven't been recorded in consecutive surveys since the middle of 2007. |
