2 Americans honored for catching terrorist suspect (AP)

Interior Minister Hans-Peter Friedrich  honored two Americans for helping apprehend an Islamic extremist who attacked a U.S. Air Force bus last year and killed two airmen. Staff Sgt. Trevor Brewer and  Lamar Joseph Conner a civilian airport employee, both of whom chased the suspect after the March 2 shooting, helping police arrest him at the scene.  Arid Uka, a 21-year-old Kosovo Albanian, is currently on trial for the slayings and has admitted to the charges. He faces up to life in prison, and a verdict and sentence are expected Thursday.  Brewer  said he was on the bus when Uka began shooting. The Tennessee native said Uka pointed a pistol at his head and pulled the trigger, but it jammed and didn't fire. Thai police seize explosives, charge Lebanese man (AP)

Reuters - Thai police discovered bomb-making materials after the detention of a Lebanese man suspected of planning an attack, but the prime minister insisted on Monday that everything was under control.
