Patrick Swanton said that five gangs had been identified in a shootout that left 9 dead and 18 injured Sunday, but he would not give them publicity by naming them. Earlier reports, however, pinpoint at least two outlaw motorcycle gangs at the center of the chaos.

| Passengers file lawsuit against Amtrak over deadly U.S. derailment Posted: 18 May 2015 02:48 PM PDT  Four passengers on the Amtrak commuter train that derailed in Philadelphia last week filed a federal lawsuit on Monday against the U.S. rail service, citing "serious and disabling" injuries, as operations resumed on the heavily traveled Northeast Corridor. The lawsuit, filed in Philadelphia, appeared to be the first brought by non-employee passengers since the derailment on May 12 that killed eight people and injured more than 200 others. The plaintiffs included two Spanish citizens, Felicidad Redondo Iban and Maria Jesus Redondo Iban, as well as Daniel Armyn of New York and Amy Miller of New Jersey. Nicole Armyn, Daniel's wife, and Marino Ucero Estrades, Maria's husband, who were not aboard the train, were also named as plaintiffs.

| Mass arrests, revenge fears after deadly Texas biker gang shootout Posted: 18 May 2015 03:08 PM PDT  By Lisa Maria Garza WACO, Texas (Reuters) - Police warned of revenge attacks from motorcycle gangs after 170 people were charged on Monday in connection with the shootout among rival bikers on Sunday that left nine dead and 18 wounded and turned a Texas restaurant into a blood-soaked crime scene. Bikers from five rival gangs attacked each other with guns, knives, brass knuckles, clubs and motorcycle chains at a Twin Peaks Sports Bar and Grill in the central Texas city of Waco. When the shooting ended, bodies were scattered in the restaurant and across two parking lots. About 100 weapons were recovered from the crime scene, which was strewn with shell casings, police said.

| Jeb Bush hardens position, says he opposes gay marriage Posted: 18 May 2015 02:49 PM PDT  (Reuters) - Republican Jeb Bush said in a weekend radio interview that he does not believe the U.S. Constitution grants a right to gay marriage, moving away from his previous urging of "respect" for all Americans on the gay and lesbian marriage issue. The U.S. Supreme Court is expected by the end of June to make a landmark ruling that could make gay marriage the law of the land or return the decision to individual states. "It's at the core of the Catholic faith and to imagine how we are going to succeed in our country unless we have committed family life, (a) committed child-centered family system, is hard to imagine," Bush told the conservative Christian Broadcasting Network show, The Brody File, in an interview broadcast on Sunday. "So, irrespective of the Supreme Court ruling because they are going to decide whatever they decide - I don't know what they are going to do - we need to be stalwart supporters of traditional marriage," said Bush, who converted to Catholicism 20 years ago.
