White, black, old and young people, some pushing children in strollers, turned out for a day of commemorative events in this mostly black St. Louis suburb where Michael Brown, 18, was fatally shot on Aug. 9, 2014. White doves were released after 4-1/2 minutes of silence to represent the roughly 4-1/2 hours that Brown's body lay in the middle of the street after he was shot.

Christian Taylor became the latest unarmed black man to die at the hands of a white police officer after officials said he was seen on security surveillance tape vandalizing cars at an auto dealership in Arlington. Taylor was shot four times by Arlington police officer Brad Miller, 49, who was still undergoing training with the department, Arlington police chief Will Johnson said on Saturday.
