Spiky Ankylosaurus Looks Like Monster from 'Ghostbusters' Posted: 10 May 2017 09:56 AM PDT Due to its uncanny resemblance to Zuul, paleontologists are calling it Zuul crurivastator (CRUR-uh-vass-TATE-or). The genus name is a nod to Zuul, the fictional Gatekeeper of Gozer in "Ghostbusters." The species name translates to "destroyer of shins" in Latin, a name inspired by the club at the end of the dinosaur's tail. Like Zuul in "Ghostbusters," Z. crurivastator has a short, rounded snout, large horns and a gnarled appearance, the researchers said. |

Jihadists snaring starving civilians in Mosul death trap Posted: 11 May 2017 03:50 AM PDT Jihadists preparing for a desperate last stand in Mosul are booby-trapping homes with civilians inside and welding doors shut on starving families to prevent the population from fleeing, residents say. Iraqi forces are closing in fast on the Old City and its narrow streets, where the Islamic State group is expected to focus its significantly depleted military capabilities. The most violent group in modern jihad has repeatedly resorted to human shields to cover its movements but in Mosul the jihadists appear to be taking the tactic to new levels. |

OPEC wants 'collective efforts' to counter US oil output Posted: 11 May 2017 04:28 AM PDT OPEC said Thursday that oil producers needed to make more joint efforts to match supply and demand in the oil market in the face of rising output in the United States. Ahead of a May 25 meeting of the cartel where its members and Russia are expected to roll over an agreement to cut production, OPEC said in its monthly market report that common policies were needed for market stability. While decreased stocks and an improving global economy were supporting oil demand, "continued rebalancing in the oil market by year-end will require the collective efforts of all oil producers to increase market stability," OPEC said. |

James Corden mocks Trump's James Comey decision in comical rant Posted: 10 May 2017 07:30 AM PDT Last night on the Late Late Show, James Corden weighed in on Trump's decision to fire FBI Director James Comey. SEE ALSO: James Corden and Stephen Curry singing along to 'Frozen' is a joy to behold The exact reason for Comey's demise might be unclear to the rest of the world, but Corden seems to have the whole thing figured out. In the video above, Corden lists the different speculations about Comey's dismissal. The White House says he was fired for how he handled the Hillary Clinton email investigation. Others say it was because of how he dealt with the Russia investigation. Corden, however, has a much simpler explanation. "Comey is being fired because Donald Trump is crazy. He a crazy man. He be crazy." Corden then drags Sean Spicer for general incompetence and delivers a round-up of the latest in Republican politics. |
