What Marco Rubio paid for with his Florida GOP charge card Posted: 07 Nov 2015 03:20 PM PST Movie tickets, Costco and grocery store runs, Walt Disney World trips, flowers, and flights for his wife –- those are some of the charges listed in two years of statements for Marco Rubio's American Express card issued by the Republican Party of Florida. The charges -- which have surfaced along with questions about his personal finances as an issue for the GOP candidate in the 2016 campaign -- are listed in two years (2007-'08) of statements obtained by ABC News that have been widely circulated in Florida political circles since Rubio ran for Senate in 2010. The Rubio campaign plans soon to release the records for the two other years (2005-'06) he had the card. |

In Keystone snub, Obama tries to lock down his climate legacy Posted: 07 Nov 2015 05:40 AM PST WASHINGTON (AP) — For years, President Barack Obama chided Republicans and Democrats alike for treating the Keystone XL pipeline as a signal of whether the U.S. would seriously fight global warming. Now that he's killed the project, Obama is holding it up as Exhibit A as he works to lock in his environmental legacy with a powerful international climate accord. |

Same-sex couples deemed Mormon apostates in renewed exclusion of gays Posted: 06 Nov 2015 06:33 PM PST Under the policy approved on Thursday, same-sex marriage was added to the list of acts considered to be a renunciation of the Mormon faith and thus subject to church discipline, including excommunication. The new policy also prohibits natural or adopted children of same-sex married couples from receiving a naming blessing or from being baptized or confirmed in the faith until they turn 18, leave their parents' home and personally disavow same-sex marriage or cohabitation. The same conditions would apply to children of same-sex couples recommended for missionary service. |
Military activity forces Los Angeles airport to detour night flights Posted: 07 Nov 2015 02:15 PM PST Nighttime flights into and out of Los Angeles International Airport will avoid passing over the Pacific Ocean just to the west of the airport for the coming week because the U.S. military has activated airspace there, officials said. The Federal Aviation Administration and the military did not disclose the nature of the activities taking place near the second-busiest U.S. airport. Airplanes normally fly over the ocean when arriving and departing the coastal Los Angeles International Airport during the night to avoid disturbing nearby residents, airport officials said in a statement. |
