Two young girls — a toddler and a 5-year-old — have been raped in separate attacks in New Delhi, police said Saturday, in the latest incidents of sexual violence against girls and women in India. A 2 1/2-year-old girl who was playing outside her home was raped in a west Delhi suburb Friday evening, said Delhi Police deputy superintendent Pushpendra Kumar. Family members found the child lying unconscious and bleeding in a park three hours after she went missing during a power outage in the neighborhood. Police have detained a few men but have not yet made any arrests in the incident, Kumar said. Meanwhile, police said they were questioning three men arrested in the gang-rape of the 5-year-old Friday evening in east Delhi. Both girls were in stable condition at hospitals, police said. The six-year-old found the loaded revolver on top of the refrigerator and shot little brother Eian Santiago in the head on Saturday evening, according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner's office. The boys' father, Michael Santiago, 25, was arrested and charged with child endangerment, a felony, police said.

Gunfire erupted at a Florida festival that attracts thousands of people dressed in zombie costumes, killing one person, injuring five others and sending crowds of frightened people rushing for cover, local media and authorities said on Sunday. The News-Press newspaper, citing police, reported that Expavious Tyrell Taylor, 20, of Okeechobee was killed in the shooting shortly before midnight on Saturday at Florida Zombicon in downtown Fort Myers. Four people were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Victor Medico, a spokesman of the Fort Myers Police Department, said to the News-Press.
